Big Ideas for a Small Planet
On Tuesday, May 27 at 9pm, the Sundance Channel featured the original series "Big Ideas For A Small Planet" (see your local listings). The episode "Transport" shows us how city governments (New York City’s transit system), private organizations (Alta) and university scientists (at MIT, working on Smart Cars) are working to get commuters to leave their cars behind for cleaner, more efficient modes of transportation, including, of course, bicycling! There will be a focus on Portland’s success story, and on Alta Planning + Design’s leadership in making communities more bicycle friendly.
PDOT's Bicycle Brown Bag Series is in full swing. Click that link to see the full schedule of events.
